Alexandros Terzis is an Assistant Professor at the Technion’s Faculty of Aerospace Engineering. His research focuses on engineering thermo-fluids and the physics of transport phenomena across scales (nano/meso to macro), with particular emphasis on energy conversion, propulsion systems, and alternative water resources. He is recipient of the Jane and Larry Sherman Fellowship (2021), co-founder of Israel InterPore National Chapter (2021-today), and a steering committee member of the Biennial Symposium on Measuring Techniques in Turbomachinery (2016-today). Part of his work is dedicated to the design of courses with a hands-on and a research-based educational approach.

Apart from Israel, Dr. Terzis has international research work experience in the USA, Switzerland, Germany, China, Netherlands, England and Greece. Before joining Technion, he was a postdoc at Stanford University (2019-20), jointly appointed by the Microfluidics and the NanoHeat Labs; an Alexander von Humboldt fellow (2016-18), hosted by the Institute of Aerospace Thermodynamics at the University of Stuttgart; and a research associate in the Group of Thermal Turbomachinery at EPFL (2009-15). He has also worked as an invited researcher at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (2017, 2018) and the University of Utrecht (2016).

Alexandros Terzis holds a 5-yr Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from Aristotle University of his native Thessaloniki; an M.Sc. in Power and Propulsion (awarded with the Baxter Memorial Prize) from Cranfield University; and earned his Ph.D. from EPFL. He also holds the Stanford Ignite ExEd program in Innovation and Entrepreneurship from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
